Drawing on her whimsical illustrations and personal interpretation of Biblical text and liturgy, Tamar Messer created this challah cover to welcome Shabbat. The woman lighting her candles is surrounded by “Vayachulu” in Hebrew – and they rested, from the Kabbalat Shabbat liturgy.
